Daily Dash
Suddenly out of the darkness I heard screaming and shouting.I walked towards the spare room were the noise was coming from,I carefully and quietly opened the door that hasn't been opened for 2 and a half years."Aaahhh" I stared into the center of the room and all I could see was 2 red eyes.I jumped,I quickly reached for the light switch."oh no" I just remembered that the light blew up.I thought to myself will this be the end of my life,and then I said no my life can't end like this so I quickly ran to my room and got the tourch I turned the light off and quickly hid under all my old dirty piles of clothes under the bed.

Kaitao Middle School was opened on the 3rd of November 1969.It has undergone many changes over the last 37 years with it's buildings,uniform and academic structure.These changes were introduced by all of the principals who have led the school over the last three and a half decades.Their common thrust has been the innovative use of technology within the parameters of the school.the academy structure is the most recent change which allows students to work with their strengths,interests and talents.This change addresses the learning needs and outcomes of the students.The idea of academies evolved when when our principal,Mr. O'Rourke, was wondering how our sister school, Illminster intermediate ,was winning all our sports exchanges.They told him that they had an amazing challenge academy and were the only school with this system in New Zealand.Mr O'Rourke decided to investigate further and after many hours of discussion: meetings,surveys and questionnaires of staff and students,parents and caregivers the Kaitao Middle Schools Academy's were born at the beginning of 2006. The school is divided into seven academies.These are:Accelerate(academic),Challenge(sports),Discovery(computers),Adventure(needing extra help with their literacy and numeracy),Expressive(performing arts),Rumaki(Te reo Maori) and environmental. Another one of the big changes was the uniforms.The boys wore Grey shorts,Grey polo shirts and a v-neck jersey as well as white socks and conventional lace-up shoes.Nowadays they wear a royal blue and yellow sweatshirt

=)Hey,my names Aysha. I attend Kaitao Middle School. I am in Room 18 Expressive Academy.
My teacher is Whaea Liz she is so cool!My fave subjects at school is art and maths!!:}My fave sport is swimming,. In the holidays i usually go to my dad's house in Auckland to see him and my little brother which is pretty cool and while I'm there he spoils me... We have 7 academy's at school,they are called Accelerate ,Expressive, Enterprise, Rumaki, Discovery, Challenge and Adventure...My friends names are Hauora,Shamara,Manaea,Anjewels,Hinei,Sonya,Natisha,Natasha and many others...But my best friend is Hauora because I've known her through kindergarten,preschool,primary and right through to intermediate which means I've known her for 9 years because I've known her since I was 3 years old.
